Privacy policy for psykologisvar.dk

1. Introduction

This privacy policy explains how I process and protect personal information collected through my website, by email, through the newsletter or during online sessions.
I take confidentiality seriously and handle all information with respect and care, in accordance with applicable data protection law.

2. Data controller

Isvar Nielsen
Authorised psychologist, cand.psych.
Email: psykolog.isvar.nielsen@gmail.com
Danish business registration no.: 33451709
Website: https://psykologisvar.dk

I am the data controller responsible for processing your information.

3. Information I process

Depending on the nature of your contact with me, I process your name, contact details, appointment and payment information, and the information you provide when making an enquiry or attending therapy. During treatment, I keep a clinical record containing relevant information about your therapy, including health information.

When you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address and any name you provide are recorded.

The website also uses services provided by Google and WordPress/Automattic, including Google tag, reCAPTCHA and visitor analytics. These services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information and information about how you use the website. reCAPTCHA helps protect the newsletter subscription form against automated abuse.

4. Purposes and systems used

  • To respond to enquiries by email or telephone.
  • To arrange and conduct sessions, keep clinical records and handle payment.
  • To submit information to Sygeforsikringen “danmark”, where relevant and agreed.
  • To send newsletters when you have subscribed.
  • To support the operation and security of the website and compile visitor statistics.

I use Terapeutbooking in my practice. We agree on the practical arrangements for booking and online sessions as part of your therapy. Email is handled through Gmail, and newsletters through Brevo.

The relevant service providers process information as part of these functions. Information may also be disclosed where you have given the necessary consent, or where the law permits or requires it.

5. Newsletter

When you subscribe to my newsletter, I record your name and email address so I can send you reflections and information about my work as a psychologist.

I use Brevo to manage subscriptions and send newsletters. Brevo processes the contact information you provide when subscribing.

I also use Brevo to send certain automated emails when you subscribe to the newsletter, such as welcome messages.
These automated emails are for information only and are sent only if you have consented to receive newsletters.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of the emails.
When you unsubscribe, I stop sending newsletters to you. Unsubscribing does not mean all your information is deleted: Brevo may retain your email address on an unsubscribe list to prevent you from being added again by mistake. You can contact me to discuss deleting your information.

6. Retention and deletion

If you contact me without becoming a client, your information is deleted no later than three months after our last contact.

Clinical records are subject to the rules on healthcare record-keeping and data protection. As a general rule, a psychologist’s records must be retained for at least five years from the most recent entry. Some circumstances may require a longer retention period. The right to erasure is limited by statutory retention requirements.

For newsletters, the information about unsubscribing and deletion in section 5 applies.

7. Security

I take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration or deletion.

  • The website uses SSL encryption (https).
  • Online sessions take place through the platform we agree to use for your therapy.
  • Please do not send your CPR number (Danish civil registration number) or detailed health information by ordinary email or text message. Contact me first so we can agree on a suitable channel.

8. Your rights

Under data protection law, you have the following rights:

  • The right to access the information I hold about you
  • The right to have inaccurate information corrected
  • The right to erasure, where the law permits it
  • The right to restrict processing and to object, where the relevant conditions are met
  • The right to data portability (to receive your data in a structured format), where the relevant conditions are met

If you would like to exercise your rights, you can contact me directly by email. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before you withdrew your consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with:
